We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Transition Team, contributing to its success. The role involves leading mechanical design development on transmission projects, including natural gas, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, LNG terminals, and biogas, with opportunities in conventional power, waste-to-energy, industrial facilities, and carbon capture schemes.
The UK Energy Transition team provides services from project inception through development, construction, operation, and decommissioning, supporting clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Our expertise encompasses thermal and conversion technologies, including low or zero-carbon solutions like future fuels and carbon capture, utilization, and storage. We work with developers, utilities, government, banks, contractors, and OEMs to deliver projects safely, exceeding client expectations.
The candidate should have experience in concept, FEED, and detailed design, and be familiar with working for OEMs, EPC contractors, or similar organizations.
Location is flexible across our UK offices.
A typical week would include:
- Developing cost-effective, innovative solutions with the project team.
- Working on various project stages, including feasibility, concept, FEED, value engineering, and detailed design, with site work opportunities.
- Preparing pipeline deliverables and above-ground installation specifications.
- Conducting pipeline routing and population studies.
- Collaborating with other disciplines on design development.
- Supporting layout and 3D model development.
- Contributing to proposals and bids for piping and layout disciplines.
What we will be looking for:
- A degree in engineering.
- Chartered status or working towards IEng/CEng, with membership in a relevant engineering institute.
- Experience in the gas industry.
- Leadership in pipeline and AGI engineering deliverables.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
- Experience in pipeline and AGI design.
- Experience with plant 3D modeling and multi-discipline team collaboration.
- Understanding of design processes, calculations, and scope documents.
- Operational troubleshooting experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks, BIM360, and MS Office.
- Experience working with clients and contractors.
