Senior Payroll Specialist EMEA – Full Time, Remote – United Kingdom
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist EMEA to join our growing HR team in the UK. The Senior Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate, complaint, and timely execution of payroll across multiple countries in the EMEA region. This full-time permanent position requires deep technical expertise, strong knowledge of regional employment laws, and a proactive approach to process improvement. In addition to day-to-day operations, the specialist will contribute to payroll-related projects, including system enhancements, process automation and improving operational workflows. Working closely with HR, Accounting, and external vendors, the specialist ensures seamless payroll operations, a positive employee experience, and strict adherence to compliance and confidentiality standards.
This is a full time remote (Working From Home function )
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and oversee end-to-end payroll processing across multiple EMEA countries, ensuring accurate and timely execution in compliance with local laws.
- Seve as the subject matter expert for EMEA payroll, advising internal stakeholders and escalating complex issues when appropriate.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll close activities, including reconciliation of payroll general ledger accounts and tax submissions.
- Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and external vendor to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems (including Dayforce and iiPay)
- Provide strategic input on payroll process optimization, automation opportunities, and internal control improvements.
- Prepare reports and analytics for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business and compliance requirements.
- Manage off-cycle payments such as terminations, bonuses, and corrections with a high level of accuracy and urgency.
- Resolve ServiceNow tickets in a timely and professional manner, meeting established service-level agreements.
- Maintain up-to-date SOPs, process documentation, and compliance checklists.
- Deliver high-quality customer service to employees and stakeholders across all levels of the organization
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years of payroll processing experience within the EMEA region, including multi-country payroll.
- Strong knowledge of EMEA payroll laws, tax regulations, and employment practices.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing system, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional attention to detail with proven track record of high accuracy in payroll processing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced global environment.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee data.
- Flexibility to work schedule that accommodates global collaboration and payroll deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently and with minimal guidance.
