Position: Senior Chartered Town Planner

Location: Newcastle

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting Planning Potential, a respected and independent planning consultancy, in the appointment of a Senior Chartered Town Planner for their Newcastle office.

The Role:

As a Senior Planner, you will play a key role in delivering complex planning projects for a diverse mix of clients across residential, commercial, retail, and mixed-use sectors. You will be supported by experienced professionals while also mentoring junior team members and contributing to business development activities.

You will be expected to:

Lead and manage a variety of planning projects

Prepare, submit, and negotiate planning applications and appeals

Deliver commercially sound planning advice to private sector clients

Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and consultees

Draft planning statements, representations, and design and access statements

Contribute to client retention and identify new business opportunitiesRequirements:

Chartered Member of the RTPI

Experience in town planning, ideally within consultancy

Excellent knowledge of the UK planning system

Confident in dealing with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders

Strong report writing, communication, and organisational skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesDesirable:

A network of local contacts in the North East

Experience in public consultations and appeal work
