Our client is seeking a Senior Planning Officer on a contract basis to join the planning team. This position focuses on the planning and development within the council, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic management and development of the area.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing and overseeing development projects.
Providing expert planning advice and support to stakeholders
Evaluating planning applications and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies
Preparing and presenting detailed reports and recommendations
Conducting site visits and assessments as required
Collaborating with colleagues and external partners to ensure cohesive planning and development
Engaging with the community and addressing public enquiries and concerns
Contributing to the continuous improvement of planning services within the council
Job Requirements:
Experience in town planning and development management
Strong understanding of planning legislation and policies
Ability to assess and process planning applications effectively
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in report writing and data analysis
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Relevant qualification in town planning or a related field
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
