My client is seeking an experienced Principal Planning Officer to join their Development Management team. This will be on an interim basis. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the local community by guiding and overseeing planning activities within the county.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading and managing development management processes
Evaluating and determining planning applications, ensuring compliance with statutory and policy requirements
Providing expert advice and guidance on town planning matters to internal and external stakeholders
Preparing and presenting reports to planning committees
Engaging in effective liaison with developers, consultants, and the public
Conducting site visits and assessments to inform planning decisions
Ensuring timely and efficient processing of planning applications
Mentoring and supporting junior planning officers within the team
Job Requirements:
Experience in development management and town planning
Strong knowledge of planning laws, regulations, and policies
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
Proficiency in preparing and presenting planning reports
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Relevant qualification in town planning or a related field
