Senior Production Planner
Location: Stevenage
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Planner to join a manufacturing business operating in a fast-paced, demand-driven environment. This role is responsible for developing and managing robust production plans that align capacity, materials, and resources to meet customer demand, delivery targets, and operational efficiency goals.
As a senior member of the planning function, you will play a key role in improving planning processes, supporting cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain and production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet customer demand, service levels, and inventory targets.
Balance capacity, labour, and material availability to optimise production flow and minimise disruption.
Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure effective execution of plans.
Monitor production performance, identify risks or constraints, and proactively implement mitigation plans.
Support S&OP / MPS activities and contribute to demand and capacity planning discussions.
Analyse planning data and KPIs to drive improvements in efficiency, delivery performance, and inventory control.
Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and scheduling processes.Requirements
Proven experience in a production planning or manufacturing planning role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of MRP / ERP systems and planning methodologies.
Ability to manage complex schedules and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
