Job Responsibilities

Lead the electrical design and delivery of MV/HV switchgear and packaged substation projects Manage projects end‑to‑end from concept, design, and manufacture through to commissioning Act as technical lead and main point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders Produce, review, and approve electrical schematics and technical documentation Support manufacturing, FATs, installation, and commissioning activities Oversee subcontractor design work and ensure compliance with technical standards Drive engineering best practice, continuous improvement, and technical mentoring Attend site visits and occasional overseas travel as required

Key Qualifications & Experience

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) 6+ years' experience within the electrical engineering industry Strong background in MV/HV systems, ideally including 33kV substation design Proven experience leading electrical design projects and managing multiple workloads Good working knowledge of protection & control systems and UK DNO standards Proficiency with AutoCAD and technical documentation Experience with protection relays and FATs advantageous Strong communication skills with the ability to lead technically and engage customers
