The role will suit someone collaborative, supportive and client-focused rather than status-driven.The RoleThis is a senior and influential appointment within the Property team, with real scope to shape how the department evolves.Key elements of the role include:Leading on commercial property work, which is the core focus of the positionHandling some high-end residential property matters as requiredSupervising and developing a junior conveyancer or solicitorProgressively overseeing two paralegals as the team structure developsWorking closely with senior leadership as they step back from day-to-day fee earning and focus on strategic managementContributing to the development of processes, client service standards and team culture during a planned period of growth and transitionOver time, the role is intended to become predominantly commercial property focused, with oversight responsibility for the residential offering rather than carrying a heavy residential caseload personally.There is clear scope for this role to develop into a broader leadership position within the department for someone who enjoys mentoring, shaping teams and taking ownership.This appointment is central to achieving a structured Property team and offers a genuine opportunity to be part of longer-term leadership planning within the department.Working Pattern and FlexibilityHybrid working is fully supported, typically around two to three days per week in the officeThe firm is well set up for remote working but values in-person collaboration and team connectionFull-time working is preferred due to the nature of property work, although flexibility can be discussedWho This Role Will SuitA commercial property solicitor with some residential exposure, around 5+ PQE as a guidelineSomeone who enjoys client contact, mentoring others and helping to build something sustainableA lawyer who values culture, collaboration and integrity alongside technical excellenceSomeone ready to step away from a more traditional or hierarchical environment while continuing to deliver high-quality workLocation: St Albans with hybrid workingThis role offers more than just a move.
