Senior Quantity Surveyor in Manchester, Greater Manchester

Our client, a leading Civil Engineering and Infrastructure specialist, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Manchester.
Responsibilities of Senior Quantity Surveyor:
* Deliver accurate cost, value, and cash flow reporting to support project and business unit forecasting
* Manage project costs, forecasting, and monthly CVR and commercial reporting
* Prepare and manage applications for payment, cash flow forecasts, and final accounts
* Procure, negotiate, and commercially manage subcontractors and supply chain agreements
* Administer and manage main contracts and subcontracts (including NEC and IChemE forms)
* Lead commercial discussions on variations, claims, and contractual changes
* Identify and realise commercial opportunities while managing and mitigating commercial risk
* Support governance, compliance, and internal commercial reporting requirements
* Work collaboratively with project and delivery teams to achieve commercial and financial targets
* Share best practice and provide commercial support to site teams
Experience Required for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
* Previous experience in the construction industry
* Familiarity with IChemE/ NEC forms of contract and knowledge and understanding of Construction Law
* Previous experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates, and accruals calculations
* Demonstrable experience in monthly forecasting and cost analysis.
* Excellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
* Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
Desirable:
* Member of RICS or other relevant professional body, or working towards
* CSCS card
* HND/degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience in estimation
* Experience working for a direct delivery contractor
* An engaging communicator with problem-solving skills
