Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager\n\n£20m Commercial Fit-Out & Refurbishment. Reading, Berkshire. Growing Interiors Main Contractor\n\nA rapidly expanding interiors main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead on a major £20m commercial fit-out and refurbishment project in Reading.
This is a high-impact role with genuine ownership, visibility, and the chance to shape both project delivery and the growth of the business.\n\nIf you’re a confident, commercially sharp QS who thrives in fast-track interiors environments, this is a standout opportunity.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Senior QS, you’ll manage the full commercial lifecycle of the project — from procurement and subcontractor management through to cost reporting, change control, valuations and final accounts. You’ll be the go-to commercial lead on a flagship scheme, working closely with project leadership and clients to keep delivery profitable, controlled and on programme.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Lead commercial management of a £20m fit-out & refurbishment project\n\n * Take responsibility for procurement, tendering and subcontractor management\n\n * Manage cost plans, CVRs, forecasting and financial reporting\n\n * Oversee valuations, variations, change control and final account negotiations\n\n * Work closely with the project team to ensure commercial alignment and risk mitigation\n\n * Build strong relationships with clients, supply chain and internal stakeholders\n\n * Contribute to commercial strategy within a growing contractor\n\nRequirements\n\n * Strong experience as a QS/Senior QS within fit-out, interiors or refurbishment\n\n * Track record managing high-value, complex projects\n\n * Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills\n\n * Confident communicator with the ability to lead from the front\n\n * Organised, proactive and able to manage a fast-paced workload\n\n * Ambitious, with the desire to grow as the business expands\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * Lead role on a major £20m project\n\n * Career progression within a dynamic, rapidly growing contractor\n\n * Supportive leadership and strong pipeline of future work\n\n * Competitive salary and benefits package\n\n * Opportunity to make a real impact on a flagship scheme\n\nReady to take the commercial lead on a career-defining fit-out project?
