BAM UK & Ireland's Infrastructure segment has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Energy Networks Sector working on the development and delivery of energy projects in the Newcastle area which will increase energy capacity, helping to unlock significant investment in the North-East of England. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the following: Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company policy. Understand and ensure compliance with Company Procedures and Policies. Maintain effective communications with all disciplines within the Alliance and the BAM business Assist in staff matters which may include: behavioural issues, competency, and staff allocation to meet a projects needs Carrying out staff performance and development reviews and assist in the operation of the commercial training programme Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting and input to subcontract documents Commercial management of subcontractors including processing payments, obtaining final account agreements, and resolving issues by negotiation Monitor the timely production of cost performance data and initiate discussions concerning project performance Produce and present monthly / quarterly cost reports Be responsible for identification and evaluation of change Be responsible for the timely production of appropriate levels of applications for payments Providecommercial advice to the site team, and management on contractual issues Provide input and support for the production of financial assessments of insurance claims What do you bring to the role?

The following are necessary requirements: To be a Member of CICES or RICS Thorough knowledge of construction processes and working methods Successful experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level Demonstrable ability to mentor and coach colleagues Be committed to promoting equality and diversity Desirable requirements: Understanding of construction law and contractual terms in standard contract forms Track record of managing multiple suppliers Proven ability to maintain and enhance client relationships Experience of working on alliance or joint ventures Experience in rail.
