Newport Norse, working in partnership withNewport City Council, is a highly successful company based in the city of Newport (South Wales), offering a full range of property and facilities management services to the public and private sectors.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the delivery of a complete range of Quantity Surveying professional services to a wide variety of clients.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for resource planning and management to provide all required services.
- Provide quantity surveying services as a project leader or part of a team from feasibility stages through to final account.
- Ensure that client requirements are identified and agreed with the clients.
- Provide and maintain high standards of design, construction and contract management, and support the senior colleagues in maintain standards and ensuring compliance.
- Ensure projects are completed to programme and within budget and fee provision.
- Responsible for identifying new business opportunities.
- Fee earning at 90%, and contribute to the achievement of business plan objectives and targets.
- This role requires frequent travel to other offices and sites as required.
- Carry out duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
- Promote continuous improvement and deliver demonstrable high quality products and services which embrace quality standards.
- Demonstrate personal commitment to the Norse Way CSR strategy.
Candidate Requirement:
- Professional Chartered professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related discipline
- Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain
- Extensive experience in a similar or related role
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
- Familiar with relevant construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos
