JOB DETAILS PAY RATE: £27 -£32 per hour WORK TYPE: Temporary (Hybrid) WORK PATTERN: Full Time or Part time LOCATION: London
JOB SUMMARY The Safeguarding Officer to work within Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work with various agencies, including schools, to ensure effective safeguarding practices
JOB DESCRIPTION The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
Safeguarding Expertise: Provide advice, support, and guidance to schools and educational staff on safeguarding children, ensuring compliance with policies. Training & Development: Design, deliver, and evaluate safeguarding training for educational personnel and relevant agencies. Policy Review: Regularly review, update, and disseminate safeguarding policies and guidance, including the model Schools Safeguarding Policy. Audit & Monitoring: Conduct annual audits and random school safeguarding audits; monitor and evaluate safeguarding practices in schools. Partnership Building: Foster positive relationships with partner agencies and schools to enhance safeguarding outcomes. Case Support: Assist with safeguarding-related tasks, including attending case reviews and supporting Education Welfare staff. Information Sharing: Produce safeguarding updates, briefings, and reports for schools and relevant bodies. Legislation Updates: Keep up to date with safeguarding legislation and best practices, disseminating relevant information to education staff. Maintain accurate records using ICT systems and ensure compliance with safeguarding documentation requirements. Identify and address any procedural deficiencies in safeguarding practices. Participate in supervision, appraisals, training, and team meetings to ensure continuous professional development.   THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
Educated to Degree level Experience of safeguarding issues and Knowledge of schools Evidence of continuing professional development Proven experience managing complex and high-risk safeguarding cases, including conducting thorough assessments, making informed decisions, and developing protection plans.
