Senior Safety Engineer – Hybrid – Hampshire (UK)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Engineer to join a leading consultancy delivering high-impact energy projects across sectors such as carbon capture, hydrogen, renewables, and traditional oil & gas. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the safety design and assurance of both onshore and offshore projects while benefiting from a flexible hybrid work model.
Location Hampshire, UK – Hybrid working available (approx. 60% remote)
Key Responsibilities
Prepare project safety deliverables, including HSE Plans, HSE Philosophies, and Terms of Reference for key safety reviews
Participate in and facilitate formal safety workshops including HAZID, ENVID, HAZOP, and SIL assessments
Manage safety-related actions and ensure timely close-out
Interface with clients and occasionally liaise with external stakeholders and third parties
Serve as Project Discipline Lead (PDL) on UK-based projects, overseeing timely and high-quality delivery of all safety engineering outputs
Requirements
Degree in Engineering or related discipline
Experience across all major project phases, including Concept, FEED, and Detailed Design
Background in onshore and offshore Oil & Gas project environments
Proven track record producing and managing safety deliverables
Strong knowledge of safety workshop processes and regulatory requirements
Confident communicator with client-facing experience
Ability to lead discipline activities and ensure deliverables align with project timelines
