Senior Software Dev Engineer, Amazon Flex

Key job responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale, distributed systems and cloud-based applications.
• Implement software engineering best practices, including Agile methodologies, continuous integration/deployment, and test-driven development.
• Identify and solve complex problems, breaking them into manageable tasks.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Mentor team members and foster an inclusive, diverse team culture.

Additional responsibilities

• Design and update core functionalities of projects and services.
• Drive technical direction and architecture of complex software systems.
• Improve system stability, performance, and security.
• Work with stakeholders to define business opportunities and develop end-to-end solutions and roadmaps.
• Coach and mentor team members, building a strong cross-functional organization.
• Provide technical expertise throughout product lifecycles and influence best practices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Experience in designing or architecting scalable and reliable systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering manager.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
