Senior Software Engineer (AI & LLM Platforms) - Product Engineering | AI Deployment at Scale London – Hybrid – 3 days a week in the office Up to £130,000 per annum plus bonus and stock options Senior Software Engineer - We’re working with a high-growth, venture-backed technology company that is embedding AI into real products used at scale across enterprise clients. Their focus is not AI research, but building reliable, production-grade software systems that safely and effectively deploy AI and LLM capabilities. They’re hiring a Software Engineer to join a new product-aligned engineering team responsible for designing, building and operating AI-powered services. This role is ideal for Senior Software Engineers who think first and foremost about clean architecture, APIs, reliability and user impact, and who enjoy working with AI as part of a broader software system. The role The Senior Software Engineer will be joining a new team with AI and LLMs as the problem space. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining the systems that allow AI models to be used safely, efficiently, and at scale. Key responsibilities include:

Designing and building production-ready backend services and APIs that integrate AI and LLM capabilities into user-facing products. Implementing LLM-powered workflows as robust, testable software components. Owning the deployment, scaling, and operation of AI-enabled services in live environments. Building and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to support AI features. Establishing strong observability, monitoring, and cost controls around AI systems. Collaborating closely with Product, Design and Data teams to deliver features end to end. Improving system reliability, performance, and developer experience through good engineering practices. Helping set standards for how AI is integrated into production software across the organisation.

What they’re looking for in a Senior Software Engineer:

Strong experience as a backend or full-stack software engineer, with production systems under your belt Excellent skills in Python with experience building APIs, services and microservices. Experience deploying and operating systems on AWS, including CI/CD, infrastructure and monitoring. Hands‑on experience integrating LLM or ML-powered components into production software (not model research). Experience with modern AI tooling platforms (e.g. Cursor, Gemini) and MLOps practices. A solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals: testing, version control, code quality, system design and reliability. Comfort working with structured and unstructured data in real-world systems. A pragmatic, product‑focused mindset — you care about usability, performance and maintainability. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
