Are you passionate about driving the energy transition and shaping innovative, low-carbon energy solutions? We're looking for a Senior Solutions Development Engineer (Electrical Biased) to join our Development and Design team within E.ON's Energy Infrastructure Services (EIS) business.
In this pivotal role, you'll act as a technical expert, working closely with our development team to shape compelling, commercially sound energy propositions. With deep knowledge of Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Wind technologies, you'll support the creation of high-quality concept designs and feasibility studies across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the UK.
You'll play a vital role in the early-stage development of major energy schemes - from high-level proposals through to investment-grade audits - helping to secure customer approval and minimise technical and commercial risk. Your insights will also support strategic innovation as we collaborate across the wider E.ON Group to ensure we remain at the forefront of emerging technologies in the race to Net Zero.

Main Responsibilities
- Lead the technical development and design of integrated energy solutions, including solar PV, battery storage, and wind.
- Modelling of PV, BESS and Wind Solutions to support the Solutions Development team in forming compelling concept energy solutions that meet our customers needs.
- Take a lead role as a Wind, Solar and PV product expert, keeping abreast of current and emerging technologies, standards and legislation.
- Oversee and provide in depth analysis of Key Project Development Metrics ensuring commercial content meets the customer and projects requirements.
- Build relationships with customers to understand, manage and predict their requirements.
- Manage the feasibility and concept design process, creating innovative, effective and commercially attractive decarbonisation proposals.
- Management of Health and Safety, ensuring compliance with legislation, reduction in the frequency and impact of accidents and ill health to the business.
- Work with internal stakeholders including Commercial, Procurement, Legal, Designers, and Project Management to ensure that projects are deliverable to programme, cost, quality and safety targets.
- Take personal responsibility for Health and Safety within the Development function and ensure that all policies, procedures and long-term corporate goals are adhered to.
- Degree educated (B.Eng./M.Eng. MSC) or HND/Experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, Materials or Chemical Engineering (Class 2 or above preferential) or proven experience within an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Sector.
- Demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge of developing BESS, Solar, and Wind solutions, including their products and technologies.
- Be proficient on relevant modelling and conceptual design tools. I.e. Energy Pro, PV Syst, Rated Power, PV Sol, etc.
- IOSH or NEBOSH General Certification.
- Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and industry standards (e.g. CIBSE, British Standards, ISO) within the context of the industrial sector.
- Proven track record in carrying out detailed Project Development reports to fulfil multi-technology Industrial & Commercial Energy Solutions.
The ability to apply and grow your expertise in a professional and solutions-focused way, using your knowledge to analyse complex stakeholder or client issues and see them through to resolution.
Confidence in developing and using advanced technical models to simulate utility systems and pinpoint opportunities for energy savings and optimisation
