A little more about your role…
WSP is seeking a Maritime Senior Structural Engineer to join the Port & Maritime team based in the UK.
As part of the team, you will have an opportunity to complement the wide experience of a highly knowledgeable and dynamic team of Maritime experts based in the UK and across the globe.
You will be working alongside senior team members contributing to the technical delivery of a wide range of UK based and international projects for a variety of clients, ranging from local authorities to private clients and international terminal operators. You will have the opportunity to provide input to all stages of the project lifecycle, from inception through design and construction, to demolition, recycling, and reuse.
You will be working closely with Early Career Professionals (ECPs) in Maritime team providing guidance and leading the delivery of design calculations, technical specifications, reports, and other deliverables in accordance with Eurocodes, international standards, and client requirements.
Also, our overseas projects often provide opportunities to travel, and you may be required to travel for short periods of time. You will work in a highly inclusive and dynamic environment where collaboration, enthusiasm, and empathy are highly valued. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Have a BEng/ MEng in Civil Engineering or similar/related qualification
- Have achieved chartership (ICE/ IStructE or similar) or actively working towards
- A background in undertaking the design and analysis for maritime and associated structures
- Knowledge of undertaking inspections, surveys and rehabilitation assignments
- Are experienced in using engineering software (i.e., LUSAS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, Robot, WALLAP, TEDDS, AutoCAD etc.)
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Check and produce quality technical outputs and solutions
- Successfully lead a small team or medium sized project and task for a multi-disciplinary project
- Have proficient use of MS office-based software
- Are personable, approachable, enthusiastic, and empathetic
- Demonstrate commitment to collaboration, learning and team working
- Are organised, disciplined, and show a structured and consistent approach to your way of working
- Interested in digitalisation and innovation
