Key DetailsJob Title: SHEQ ManagerLocation: Halifax, with regular travel to sites across the UK and IrelandSalary: Up to £55kHours: M-F (8.30am to 5pm)The Role As SHEQ Manager, you will lead the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality function across several operational sites. Reporting into senior leadership, you'll be responsible for ensuring full legal and regulatory compliance while embedding a proactive culture of continuous improvement.This is a broad and influential role, overseeing SHEQ alongside associated functions including transport compliance, facilities and local IT coordination. You'll work closely with operational teams, external regulators and group stakeholders to ensure standards are not only met, but continually improved.Key Responsibilities of the SHEQ ManagerLead and maintain SHEQ management systems in line with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001Ensure audit readiness by leading internal and external audits and compliance inspectionsAct as the technical authority on health & safety, quality, environmental and sustainability mattersProvide practical, proactive guidance to operational teams on SHEQ legislation and best practiceOversee risk assessments, safe systems of work, incident investigations and corrective actionsCoordinate SHEQ training, toolbox talks, audits and awareness programmesMonitor, analyse and report on SHEQ KPIs, trends and performance metricsLiaise with enforcing authorities and represent the business during inspections when requiredDrive a positive safety and quality culture through visible leadership and continuous improvementIT, Facilities and Compliance OversightSet priorities and service levels for local IT support and technical coordinationMaintain asset, licensing and endpoint security complianceSupport business continuity, data protection and local IT project deliveryOversee transport and company vehicle compliance alongside facilities requirementsPeople ManagementLead, motivate and develop a multi-disciplinary SHEQ teamSet clear objectives, manage performance and support development planningWork with HR on people processes including attendance, performance and succession planningBuild a resilient team culture aligned with business values Skills & Experience Required EssentialProven experience in a senior SHEQ Manager / leadership role, ideally within engineering, manufacturing or automotive environmentsStrong working knowledge of UK SHEQ legislation and ISO management systemsNEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levelsProactive, hands-on approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsCommitted to driving a zero-incident, high-quality cultureDesirableLead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001)Environmental or quality-focused certificationsExperience of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies If you are a proactive SHEQ Manager who thrives on responsibility and making a real impact, then we would love to hear from you.
