Shop Manager Address: 61 Church Street, Garstang, Preston, Lancs, PR3 1YA. Hours: 37.5 hours per week over 7 days. Pay: £12.94 per hour plus rewards & benefits. Job Overview Lead the Sue Ryder charity shop in Garstang, driving sales, overseeing a volunteer team and delivering excellent customer service. Your role will support community engagement, stock management and the promotion of the Sue Ryder brand. Key Responsibilities
Drive business performance, push sales and achieve sales targets. Lead a team of volunteers to deliver outstanding customer service to donors and customers. Recruit, train and retain a motivated volunteer team. Engage with the local community to secure donated stock that fuels sales. Set high standards of merchandising and housekeeping, prioritising health and safety. Manage stock processes to ensure fresh, seasonal items are always available. Act as a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder, supporting in‑store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives. Operate the Epos system effectively and maintain accurate records.
Minimum Essential Criteria
Customer service experience. People management experience (reviews, 1:1 meetings, volunteer recruitment, team meetings). Experience with KPIs and targets. Strong IT skills (admin, email, instant messaging, video calls). Organisational skills. Lone working experience.
Desirable Criteria
High‑street or charity retail managerial experience. Health and safety knowledge. Basic Microsoft Office skills or equivalent. Background in high‑street retail, leisure or hospitality. Experience with merchandising/stock rotation.
