£5m Groundworks Package
Freelance: 35 weeks
Rate: £300 per day
Location: Newport We are currently searching for a Setting Out Engineer for a face paced groundworks package in Newport. You will be working for a subcontractor who specialises in these packages, working alongside the principal contractor on the scheme.

The Role:

Site Surveys and Setting Out works using GPS, total station and levels in line with drawings and specifications
Establishing and maintaining site control, datums and gridlines for bulk earthworks, attenuation and drainage runs
Carrying out quality checks and surveys to verify line, level and formation tolerances
Managing testing regimes, including compaction, CBR, permeability and pressure testing in accordance with specs
Recording and reviewing QA documentation, test results, ITPs and inspection records for handover
Liaising with main contractor, engineers and inspectors to coordinate inspections, hold points and approvals
Identifying non-conformances and implementing corrective actions, ensuring works meet contractual and adoptable standards
Producing as-built surveys and records, including drainage layouts, manhole schedules and test certificates
Experience Required:

5 + years experience working as a Setting Out/Site Engineer in the Construction/Civil Engineering sector.
Experience using Trimble systems
Strong communication and reporting skills
