Overview:
Our client, a leading contractor, is seeking an experienced and highly capable Site Manager to oversee civil works on a secure site. This is a critical role requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and strict adherence to health, safety, and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Oversee and manage all on-site civil engineering activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
*
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to maintain programme targets.
*
Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, site procedures, and relevant regulations.
*
Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
*
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and client representatives to ensure clear communication and progress reporting.
*
Monitor quality of works and ensure adherence to project specifications and standards.
*
Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, and incident logs.
*
Manage site logistics, materials, and resources efficiently.
Requirements:
*
Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering projects.
*
Strong knowledge of civil works including groundwork, drainage, and infrastructure.
*
Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
*
CSCS card (appropriate level).
*
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
*
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Essential Criteria:
*
Security Clearance is essential – candidates must hold current clearance due to the nature of the site.
Desirable:
*
Experience working on secure or regulated sites.
*
First Aid qualification.
*
Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor certification.
