Software Development Engineer (To be cleared for SC Clearance is essential) Package: Competitive Salary + Benefits Location: Farnborough (Hybrid) This is a 37-hour per week position based at their Farnborough site, with hybrid working available.The RoleYou'll join a highly skilled engineering team focused on maintaining and developing new systems that modernise Maritime Test & Evaluation facilities. This is hands-on, impactful work, contributing to real-world mission success.In this position, you'll be exposed to a wide range of exciting technical projects. You'll have the chance to expand your skill set, work alongside recognised experts, and operate at the forefront of technology. Your contributions will support the creation, testing and effective use of new, life-saving capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesGathering and translating software requirementsDesigning, implementing and maintaining software solutionsDeveloping new modules, resolving defects and tackling technical challengesCollaborating closely with software engineers, systems engineers, project teams and multiple stakeholdersEssential ExperienceHands-on development experience in C++ or Java, on Linux or WindowsStrong problem-solving and engineering skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across teams and customersSolid understanding of the full software development life cycleExperience designing, developing, integrating, testing and delivering complex real-time software systemsFamiliarity with change control and configuration management toolsPreferred QualificationsDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)JBRP1_UKTJ
