Complete all stages of the development lifecycle Develop and execute application software using COBOL, Db2 and IMS to meet our client’s requirements Drive continuous improvement by sharing your expertise, and assisting less experienced team members Provide essential support to internal users, ensuring system stability through proactive maintenance, and participating in an out-of-hours cover rotation Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects that support our payment systems
About The Team
Deliver bespoke tactical solutions for our International clients Report and update data at scale Are experts at recovering and correcting data Plan projects in detail and deliver to that plan
What You Will Be Doing
You will be writing code to fulfil client requirements You will be estimating and planning small – medium sized projects You will be responsible for delivering the projects by the agreed date(s) You will be conducting Unit Testing of your code You will be participating in code reviews You will be running jobs to create reports and update client data You will need to provide out-of-hours (including weekend) cover on a rota basis
What You Will Need
Strong technical foundations in COBOL and JCL for z/OS, with a proven track record of delivering clean, reliable code Experience with IMS and/or Db2 Experience of Mainframe Tools and Utilities, such as TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL, Sort A willingness to learn new technology Adaptability and organisation, staying calm and focused during busy periods, or when handling out-of-hours support Good communication skills, allowing you to work effectively with both technical peers and internal stakeholders
