Job Title: Solar PV Surveyor / Technical Sales Surveyor Location: Fareham, Hampshire Salary: £30,000 – £55,000 + Bonus + Company Vehicle (DOE) Full Time | Permanent
A growing renewable energy specialist based in Fareham is seeking an experienced Solar PV Surveyor / Technical Sales Surveyor to join their expanding team. The company specialises in high-quality domestic and commercial solar installations across the South Coast and surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge of Solar PV systems who is comfortable meeting customers, carrying out site surveys, and converting opportunities into confirmed installations.
The Role
You will be responsible for attending customer properties to assess suitability for Solar PV installations, conducting technical surveys, and preparing accurate system proposals.
Working closely with the installation and design teams, you will ensure each project is correctly specified and commercially viable.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out site surveys for Solar PV installations across domestic properties Assessing roof structure, orientation, shading, and electrical infrastructure Designing suitable PV systems and advising customers on optimal solutions Producing accurate system layouts and technical specifications Preparing quotations and proposals for customers Converting surveys into confirmed installation projects Liaising with the installation team to ensure smooth project delivery Ensuring all designs comply with MCS standards and industry best practice
Requirements
Experience within the Solar PV industry Previous experience as a Solar Surveyor, Technical Surveyor, or Solar Sales Consultant Strong understanding of Solar PV systems, inverters, and roof mounting systems Knowledge of MCS standards and installation requirements Good communication and customer-facing skills Full UK driving licence
Desirable
Experience using solar design software such as Easy PV, OpenSolar, or similar Electrical background or relevant technical qualification Experience with battery storage systems
Package £40,000 – £55,000 basic salary depending on experience Bonus / commission structure Company vehicle or vehicle allowance Pension scheme Long term progression within a growing renewable energy business
