Sous Chef – Kendrew Barracks ? £29362 per annum | 37.5 hours per week | Pay & Hours £29362 per annum 37.5 hours per week (5 out of 7 days) 1 weekend in 4 (on a 2-week rotating rota) Early shift: 06:30 – 14:00 Late shift: 11:00 – 20:00 Meal service times:

Breakfast – 07:00 to 08:30 Lunch – 12:00 to 13:30 Dinner – 17:30 to 18:30

Free meal while on shift Uniforms provided Excellent work–life balance Opportunities for career growth and development within ESS (Compass Group UK & Ireland) About the Role We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our friendly catering team at Kendrew Barracks.You’ll play a key role in delivering fresh, high-quality meals for service personnel across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. ? Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve delicious, high-quality meals Support the Head Chef with menu planning, ordering, and kitchen operations Maintain strict food hygiene and safety standards Manage stock control and minimise waste Lead, train, and motivate junior kitchen team members Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient working environment What We’re Looking For Previous experience in a similar kitchen role (Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie) Computer literate and confident with kitchen systems City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent Food Hygiene Certificate Team player with great communication skills Passion for quality food and customer satisfaction ??
