Speech and Language Therapist – Learning Disabilities & Autism Team Location: Bradley Specialism: Learning Disabilities & Autism Salary: £40,000 per annum Contract Type: Permanent Working Pattern: Full Time
Role Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist healthcare service in Bradley . This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities and autism , delivering high-quality therapy within a supportive and collaborative clinical environment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and benefit from extensive training opportunities and professional development support.
Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions across the service
Conduct specialist dysphagia assessments and management plans tailored to individual service users
Support the Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist in maintaining effective service delivery
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure care aligns with service users' management plans
Provide expert SLT advice and consultation to colleagues involved in service users' care
Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records in line with statutory and organisational guidelines
Promote the wellbeing, dignity, and interests of all service users
Supervise junior staff members and students as directed by the line manager
Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
Essential Requirements Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Speech and Language Therapist
Membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
Minimum of two years' post-qualification experience
Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, including learning disabilities and autism
Strong written communication and clinical documentation skills
Experience supporting junior staff or students
