Job Details
Title: Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Underley Gardens School, Kirkby Lonsdale, Lancashire LA6 2DZ
Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience)
- Basic grade SALT from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+, Highly specialist from £48,000+*
Hours: 24 hours per week, 3 days, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Contract: Permanent (term-time only, with flexibility around full-time options based on personal circumstances)

The Role
We seek a resilient, creative, and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our clinical team at Underley Gardens School. You will deliver tailored assessments and interventions, working within the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, and hold a caseload with support from your clinical supervisor and site lead. Your role includes staff training and consultation, contributing to a person-centered, empowering approach that prioritizes safeguarding and pupil involvement. We value innovative approaches to enhance life quality and outcomes for pupils.
Location & Setting
Underley Gardens School, part of our Options Autism brand, supports children and young people aged 5-19 with complex needs.

Essential Criteria
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar setting
- Experience working with individuals with complex communication needs
- Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
- Experience in multidisciplinary teams and working with families
- Interest in developing SaLT skills and knowledge
- Strong relationship-building, analytical, and communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Understanding of RCSLT standards and assessment tools
- Knowledge of legislation affecting clinical practice
- Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications
Desirable
- Understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication
- Knowledge of arousal levels and communication
- Full driving license (highly desirable)
