What you will do

  • Lead the monolith‑to‑services decomposition using patterns like Strangler Fig to support tens of millions of monthly active users.

  • Design and implement database optimisation strategies for high‑throughput workloads on PostgreSQL and transition toward event‑driven systems.

The ideal candidate

  • 10+ years of hands‑on experience building and shipping distributed systems at high‑growth consumer platforms such as Monzo, Revolut, or Deliveroo.
  • Expert‑level proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, Go, and AWS, with a proven track record of scaling databases for millions of users.
  • Forward‑thinking engineer fluent with AI‑assisted development tools like Cursor and enthusiastic about mentoring teams through technical leadership.
