A critical requirement for this role is extensive subcontract procurement experience, particularly within the infrastructure or construction sectors. You must have a strong command of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including the ability to negotiate heavily amended versions and achieve commercially sound outcomes.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a commercially sharp procurement leader who can manage complexity, influence stakeholders, and lead change in a dynamic project environment.

Negotiate and manage NEC3/NEC4 subcontract agreements, including heavily modified versions. Ensure full commercial governance and alignment with internal risk management protocols. Build, manage, and optimise the project supply chain, ensuring performance and value delivery. Collaborate closely with delivery teams, estimators, commercial leads, and suppliers. Drive sustainable procurement outcomes including ESG, social value, and SME engagement. Support work-winning activity and preconstruction planning with strategic supply chain input. Interface with client procurement and commercial teams, ensuring alignment with framework expectations.
Must-Have Experience
Proven background in subcontract procurement within infrastructure, utilities, or construction. Strong NEC3 and NEC4 contract knowledge, including negotiation of amended clauses. Minimum 5 years in a senior procurement/supply chain leadership role. Track record of commercial delivery and risk mitigation through subcontract management. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across commercial and delivery functions. Demonstrable experience leading procurement on complex, high-value projects.
