Job Description
Supplier Parts Quality Engineer - Technical Assistance \n\nWolverhampton, West Midlands \n\nMonday to Friday- 07.00am-15.00pm with possible shift rotation\n\nTo provide structured Supplier Technical Assistance, ensuring purchased components meet required standards for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. The role bridges production, engineering, and supply base, driving permanent corrective actions and improving supplier capability.\n\nYou will operate both reactively (issue resolution) and proactively (risk mitigation, process audits).\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nSupplier Issue Management\n\nLead containment and root cause investigations at supplier sites\nDrive 8D closure with robust verification and prevention controls\nValidate corrective actions through on-site audits and data analysis\nEscalate non-performing suppliers using structured governanceProduction Protection\n\nManage supplier-related disruptions within EPMC\nImplement short-term containment strategies to protect build\nCoordinate sorting, rework, and deviation management when requiredProcess & System Improvement\n\nIdentify systemic risks and drive capability improvement plans\nSupport cost avoidance initiatives linked to quality failuresEssential Skills & Technical Experience Required:\n\nDegree -qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing or equivalent experience).\nProven experience in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Engineering within automotive or complex manufacturing.\nStrong working knowledge of 8D methodology, Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Ishikawa),PFMEA / DFMEA, Control Plans, SPC & Capability Studies (Cp/Cpk)\nExperience managing supplier escalations and containment activity\nAbility to interpret technical drawings and GD&T\nRTW in the UK without restrictions (PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT OFFER SPONSORSHIPS)Desirable Skills:\n\nSix Sigma Green Belt (or above)\nVDA 6.3 Auditor qualification\nExperience within BIW, powertrain, chassis, trim or electronics supply chain\nExperience working in an EPMC environment\nProficient in Minitab statistics
