Job Title: Supplier Technical Manager
Role Overview
Responsible for approving, onboarding, and monitoring suppliers and raw materials, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and customer standards. The role works closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain high supply chain standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage supplier and raw material approval processes
Oversee the onboarding of new suppliers and materials.
Maintain documents such as specifications and certifications.
Track supplier performance and update the approved supplier list.
Manage testing, traceability, and risk assessment schedules.
Investigate non-conformance issues and agree corrective actions.
Work with procurement and supply teams on improvement projects and risk reduction.
Support product launches by ensuring supplier and material data is accurate.
Assist goods-in teams with delivery checks and stock release/rejection decisions.
Keep customer-specific supplier monitoring systems up to date.
Submit packaging compliance data as required by legislation.
Liaise with external bodies and compliance platforms.
Respond to technical queries promptly.
Conduct supplier audits and produce KPI reports.
Review product artwork for new or updated products.
Support internal and external audits.
Skills & Experience
Technical experience in the food industry, ideally in a supplier-facing role.
Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., BRC) and UK retailer requirements.
Understanding of food safety risks across multiple product types.
Full driving licence, and able to travel when required.
