Job Description

I have partnered with a Financial Services MSP based in London looking for a 2nd Line Systems Engineer to support high‑performance environments within the financial sector. This role sits beyond a standard service desk, offering real responsibility, exposure to business‑critical systems, and a clear path into cloud, 3rd line and leadership roles.


Key responsibilities

  • Act as an escalation point for 1st line, owning issues end‑to‑end
  • Provide 2nd line support across desktop, server and cloud environments
  • Support business‑critical systems in real time
  • Work directly with senior stakeholders
  • Manage incidents, prioritise effectively and communicate clearly
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement
  • Participate in an on‑call rota (paid overtime)


Required experience

  • 2+ years in a 2nd line or strong 1st/2nd line support role
  • Experience in Windows 10/11, Windows Server and Microsoft 365
  • Exposure to Azure / Azure AD environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills
  • Confident working with senior and non‑technical users
  • Organised, calm under pressure and service‑focused
