Systems EngineerOur client, a high-technology business operating within the defence and security sector, delivers immersive training solutions, simulation, and defence consultancy. They are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join their growing team based in Portsmouth.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and guide the design, development, and implementation of complex systems in line with defence acquisition best practiceWork closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure project and product requirements are metPrepare and present materials for project design reviews to internal and external stakeholdersProvide engineering assistance in the management of subcontractors and review of supplier deliverablesDevelop, maintain, and control engineering documentation, including requirements documentation, system architectures, design documentation, test and acceptance plans, and bills of materialsProvide technical input and assistance to projects and the wider businessConduct feasibility studies and produce technical reportsContribute to the development and continuous improvement of internal engineering processesJob RequirementsPrevious experience in a Systems Engineering roleDemonstrated experience specifying, designing, developing, and implementing complex systems through to deliveryStrong knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle and associated practicesAbility to interpret customer requirements within an operational contextExperience developing system architectures using appropriate tools and modelling languages (e.g. SysML)Experience in Integration, Test and Verification, including presenting verification evidence to stakeholdersKnowledge of Agile methodologies, tools, and techniquesExperience producing technical documentation and reports, with the ability to present to internal and external audiencesFamiliarity with systems engineering processes, tools, and techniques within a defence frameworkUnderstanding of synthetic training solutions and naval defence platforms/systems is highly desirablePersonal AttributesMethodical and thoughtful approach to problem solvingClear and effective communication skillsStrong relationship-building skills with a cooperative working styleCurious, adaptable, and proactive mindsetHigh standards of integrity, openness, and accountabilitySecurity RequirementsIn line with baseline security requirements, candidates will be required to provide evidence of identity and eligibility to work in the UK.If you have experience in Systems Engineering and are looking to make a meaningful contribution within a progressive and growing SME, we encourage you to apply and join a flexible and skilled engineering team in Portsmouth.JBRP1_UKTJ
