Job Title: Systems Safety Engineer

Salary: £47,683+ dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

You will support the resolution of Safety related issues on Typhoon Radar

This role will require you to review Safety assessment and evidence in clearance documentation from radar supplier in support of clearance activities

Ensure you assess supplier deviations related to safety

You will generate Safety arguments to maintain the safety of the aircraft

Addressing any Certification queries or concerns raised both internally and by Eurofighter and NETMA Nations

You will be involved in generation of in-service risk assessments and in-service instructions relating to the radar in order to maintain the continued airworthiness of the in-service aircraft fleet

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

Experience in product safety engineering (fault tree analysis, safety cases, Hazard analysis)

A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience (preferably with Safety or Systems Engineering focus)

Knowledge of Systems Engineering

Experience of working with Suppliers

Desirable:

Experience of Typhoon / aircraft safety

The Radar EDR team:

The Radar Safety Team is part of the broader EDR (Equipment Design Responsibility) team and is made up of 3 to 5 engineers. The team is responsible for ensuring that radar products are safe to operate on the Typhoon platform—both at the point of initial delivery and throughout the product’s in-service lifecycle.

As a member of this close-knit team, you’ll work alongside experienced and like-minded professionals who will support your transition into the role. You’ll have access to company product safety training and opportunities to deepen your knowledge of both the Typhoon platform and its radar systems.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration, helping to ensure integration and alignment across departments so that all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the radar’s functionality. The team maintains strong connections across the wider business and regularly interacts with external suppliers and partners.
