Your Role as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant

As a qualified Level 3 TA, you’ll take on a more advanced and independent support role, helping to deliver high-quality learning experiences:

• Leading small group interventions and supporting targeted learning programmes across core subjects.
• Offering 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, ensuring progress is personalised and purposeful.
• Delivering structured learning activities confidently in the teacher’s absence, where appropriate.
• Supporting behaviour management strategies and contributing to a positive, inclusive classroom culture.
• Assisting with assessment tasks, pupil progress tracking and feedback to teaching staff.
• Helping adapt resources to support a diverse range of learning needs, including SEND.
• Acting as a reliable, proactive member of the team who contributes to planning discussions and classroom routines.

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in a Level 3 Teaching Assistant role across the Wirral, you’ll need:

• A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Proven experience supporting pupils in a primary, secondary or SEND school setting (through your course or within a work placement).
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management and inclusive learning support.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Confidence delivering small-group interventions and supporting differentiated learning.
• A caring, committed and adaptable approach to supporting children’s academic and emotional development.
• An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
