Our client are looking for a section/team leader to join the growing team onsite!
Hours / Pay :
Monday-Thursday 6pm till 6am (12 hour night shift)
£16.56 per hour
Main Purpose of the Job:
To lead and coordinate a designated production section to achieve daily production targets safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. The Section Leader is responsible for ensuring that all activities within their section comply with company quality systems, customer requirements, and health, safety and environmental obligations, while supporting and taking direction from the Production Supervisor.
Key Relationships:
Responsible to: Production Supervisor Liaison with: Quality Compliance Supervisor, HSE Supervisor, Maintenance and other Section Leaders Responsible for: Section operatives and temporary labour
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Production & People Leadership:
• Lead, motivate, and supervise employees within the allocated production section. • Follow the production plan as specified by the Production Supervisor. • Allocate tasks and resources to meet daily production plans and output targets. • Monitor attendance, timekeeping, and performance. • Support training, development, and competence of section employees. • Deliver effective team briefings and shift handovers. Quality Compliance: • Ensure compliance with company quality standards and procedures. • Take direction from the Quality Compliance Supervisor. • Carry out routine quality checks and report non-conformances. • Promote a right-first-time culture.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:
• Ensure safe working practices within the section. • Take direction from the HSE Supervisor. • Enforce risk assessments, safe systems of work and PPE requirements. • Report accidents, near misses and hazards. • Promote a positive safety culture.
Operational Control & Communication:
• Monitor performance against production targets. • Liaise with Maintenance regarding equipment issues. • Support reporting and continuous improvement activities. • Maintain housekeeping standards.
General:
• Support continuous improvement and waste reduction. • Comply with company policies and procedures. • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.
Competencies Required:
Skills:
• Strong team leadership and communication skills. • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability. • Basic IT and reporting skills.
Knowledge:
• Manufacturing or production environment experience. • Awareness of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSC and HSE requirements. a
