Were looking for an experienced Technical Design Manager to lead a skilled CAD and Drawing team. This is a pivotal role, bridging the gap between client-facing teams and production, ensuring design concepts are accurately translated into safe, manufacturable, and high-quality technical drawings. Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and develop a small technical design team, with scope to expand. Oversee creation of GA drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly diagrams, and installation guides. Ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and compliant with UK regulations. Act as the main technical contact for Projects, Production, and external engineers. Drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the department. Stay up to date with new materials, manufacturing techniques, and industry trends. About you: Proven experience in technical design or engineering management. Expert in SolidWorks or AutoCAD (2D essential, 3D beneficial); familiarity with Adobe Illustrator. Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and UK construction regulations (Building Regs, CDM). Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Desirable: Engineering or Product Design qualification (HNC/HND/degree). Experience with 3D modelling, ERP/MRP systems, BOM creation, or change control processes.
