Responsibilities:
PRe-Broadcast:
Camera Lineup: Ensure proper camera setup as needed.
Shot Selection: Check and save pre-loaded shots on the shot selection screen.
Production Meeting: Attend production meetings to identify and record all required shots as specified by the producer, with assistance from studio assistants.
Technical Issue Resolution: Identify and assist the Engineer in resolving any technical issues before the broadcast.
Broadcast:
Live Direction: Direct and vision mix the live output in accordance with the editorial guidance from presenters and producers.
Audio and Video Optimization: Maintain optimal video and audio levels throughout the broadcast.
Clip and Promo Management: Cue VT clips, plasma loops, and promo breaks to air correctly.
Camera Operation: Vision mix up to 6 cameras to capture the desired shots.
Product Recordings: Ensure that the correct product recordings are played during the broadcast.
Promo List Cross-Check: Verify the Promo live list before each promo break.
Team Coordination: Direct Studio Assistants as needed during the broadcast.
Handover Procedures: Follow handover procedures when taking breaks and ensure appropriate handovers at the end of shifts.
Emergency Response: Be available to handle any emergencies that may occur during non-live hours.
Qualifications:
General Knowledge and Skills:
Educated to degree standard or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in the same capacity/job role is required.
Proficiency in PC-based packages and keyboard skills (MS Office).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Polite, friendly, and assertive demeanor.

Functional Expertise:
Experience with the Kayak vision mixer is preferred.
Ability to operate video cameras and pedestals.
Proficiency in managing DVE systems.
Familiarity with talk-back unit functions and microphones.
Experience in operating server systems for video clip recording and recall.
Ability to operate studio lighting rigs and associated control equipment.
Knowledge of the K2 video server.
Understanding of composite, analogue, SD/HD signals.
Understanding of teleprompter operation, preferably in a live television broadcast setting.
