Because the supply chain for secondhand fashion is broken.

I’m hiring a Backend Tech Lead for a high-growth, Series B marketplace building the AI-native infrastructure powering global secondhand trade.

Stack: Node, TypeScript, AI-integrated services (open to other backend languages)

This isn’t sustainability theatre.

It’s systems-level change.

They’ve already diverted millions of items from landfill — and are scaling fast.

You’ll:

• Lead backend architecture across a live B2B marketplace

• Build systems handling 500K+ unique items per month (scaling to millions)

• Integrate AI directly into grading, pricing and commerce flows

• Own the ecommerce journey (discovery → checkout → payments)

• Mentor engineers while staying deeply hands-on

This is a product-facing tech lead role.

Your decisions directly influence GMV, buyer behaviour, and global supply flow.

They need someone who:

– Has scaled consumer / marketplace platforms

– Thinks commercially as well as technically

– Leads by doing

– Thrives in high-ownership environments

– Wants impact beyond ad clicks and incremental optimisation

The secondhand fashion market is projected to reach $350B by 2027.

The infrastructure layer is still being built.
