Converting customer enquiries into manufacturing routes using company software. Provide technical support services including product costing, route planning, master production details and product drawings. Estimating the cost of producing the product to allow Sales to quote the customer. Assess production cost reviews to ensure manufacturing methods are fit for purpose and cost effective. Provide technical support to customers including; advice, drawings, prototypes, sampling and on-site visits. Working with Resources to obtain and set up sub-contract operations and components for manufacturing. Maintain an orderly workflow according to priorities and achieve deadlines. Working with engineering and production teams to maximise efficiency ensuring correct tooling is in place and process are suitable. Carry out Quality Assurance activities including inspection, audit and certifications. To provide technical support to ensure all customers or potential customers have a satisfactory experience when dealing with the Company. Key Requirement's for the Technical Support Engineer:
An understanding of basic manufacturing methods and processes such as metal forming, drilling, punching and machining. Must be able to read engineering drawings and explain the meaning to others. Must be competent in computer programs including; AutoCAD, MS Word and MS Excel (including working with formulae, knowledge of Visual Basic would be an advantage). Additional Information for the Technical Support Engineer: Monday to Friday 07.30 - 15.30. Friday finish 13.30. Between £30,000 - £35,000 Per Annum. Own transport is advantageous.
