30/06/2026 A tech consultancy working on a government transformation programme is seeking a

Test Automation Lead

to establish and deliver a test automation capability across the Transform solution. This role will assess tooling options, run a proof of concept, and provide recommendations to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Conduct discovery sessions with stakeholders to confirm objectives, constraints, and target systems.

Evaluate test automation tools against technical fit, usability, maintainability, and integration capability.

Execute a proof of concept covering UI and API test scenarios, integrated with CI/CD and test management tools.

Define PoC metrics, including execution stability, test maintenance effort, and reporting quality.

Produce a decision paper and recommendation report, including risk, cost, and implementation considerations.

Present findings and recommendations to programme governance forums.

Requirements: Experience leading test automation initiatives, including tool evaluation and PoC execution.

Strong understanding of UI, API, and service-level testing.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test management tools (e.g., Jira/Xray), and integration practices.

Ability to design and implement automation frameworks and scripts for complex systems.

Proven track record of translating technical findings into clear business recommendations.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Must be UK or Ireland-based, willing to relocate or travel to Jersey 3 days per month.

Available to start early April 2026.
