The Role As Transport Planner, within the Container Logistics division, you'll thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment where no two days are the same. Key responsibilities include: Liaising with hauliers to obtain updates and ensure delivery timeframes are met Proactively resolving unforeseen challenges with minimal operational impact Managing customer expectations with professionalism and confidence Engaging with stakeholders at all levels across the business Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within transport operations Supporting operational efficiency across container logistics, and multimodal movements (experience in these areas is required) Dealing with multiple drivers and coordinating delivery times Communicating with ports and booking delivery slots for entry in ports Using a transport system (TOPS) to input drivers' start times and finish times Chasing drivers for ETAs and ensuring timely deliveries Rerouting jobs as needed to meet operational demands Ensuring all PODs are matched up with the correct jobs in the system Advising customers of potential delays and providing updated ETAs

This role would particularly suit someone with exposure to container logistics and/or multimodal transport operations, who understands the complexities of time-sensitive movements and thrives on solving logistical challenges.

Essential Qualifications and Skills Previous experience as a Transport Planner / Operator within Container Logistics - Essential Confident and clear communicator (both written and verbal) Excellent UK geographical knowledge Ability to work on own initiative Quick and efficient problem-solving skills Organised at all times Flexibility to meet the demands of the business
