What will you be doing? Maintain the highest standards of food safety, storage, and kitchen hygiene, whether working in a team facility, hotel, or temporary kitchen setup. Understanding of Government guidelines on allergens and labelling. Willingness to learn and execute nutritionally optimised meal plans based on individual player requirements, dietary restrictions, and performance goals. Work closely with Head Chef and Senior Travel Chef, Nutrition team, logistics teams, and hotels/restaurants to ensure seamless food provision during travel, including sourcing high-quality ingredients. Collaborate with sports nutritionists adapting recipes as needed. Prepare meals tailored to various dietary needs, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and allergy-friendly options, without compromising on taste or performance needs. Deliver a high-end culinary experience with an emphasis on presentation, taste, and consistency, ensuring athletes receive top-tier service. Learn to understand the needs of players, nutritionists, coaching staff and medical teams to align food preparation with training and competition schedules. Interest in and open to emerging trends in sports nutrition and performance-focused cuisine.
Who are we looking for? This role requires extensive travel, providing tailored, performance-focused meals that support training, recovery, and match schedules . The ideal candidate will have some expertise in meal planning and high-quality cooking. You will possess an NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent (Level 3 is desirable), have previous professional chef experience in in creating flavourful, nutrient-dense meals that meet the demands of Elite-performance sports with the ability to plan and prepare meals efficiently.
