UK Sales Manager - Automation & Precision Engineering

An opportunity to join a globally respected engineering manufacturer whose products sit at the heart of some of the world’s most advanced machines, factories, and technologies.
This organisation is widely regarded as a benchmark in precision engineering, linear motion, and motion control. With a strong UK presence and the backing of a global group, they combine stability with long-term investment in people, technology, and innovation.
The Role
This is a senior commercial leadership role with real influence. You will lead, coach, and develop a nationwide team of field sales engineers while also remaining close to key strategic accounts.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a UK-wide team of field sales engineers
• Set clear sales strategy, targets, and territory focus across the country
• Drive growth within a portfolio of major, multi-million-pound customer accounts
• Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, integrators, and end users
• Work closely with engineering and technical support teams to deliver value-led solutions
• Identify new market opportunities and support long-term account development
• Forecast, plan, and report sales activity in line with wider business objectives
Industries You’ll Be Working Across

• Robotics and advanced manufacturing
• Semiconductor and electronics production
• Medical and life sciences equipment
• Machine tools and precision machinery
• Automotive and EV-related manufacturing
• Aerospace and high-spec industrial OEMs
Why This Is a Role Worth Considering
• Join a company with genuine engineering heritage and global credibility
• Products that are specified on performance and quality, not price alone
• A strong existing customer base with significant growth potential
• A leadership role with autonomy and influence, not micromanagement
• Long-term stability backed by continued global investment
• Exposure to cutting-edge industries and technologies
• A culture that values technical knowledge, professionalism, and long-term relationships
• Clear commitment to continued professional development and training
What They’re Likely Looking For
• Proven experience managing and developing technical field sales teams
• Background in linear motion, bearings, automation, motion control, or precision engineering
• Ability to operate confidently at both engineering and senior commercial levels
• Strong strategic mindset with hands-on sales credibility
• Comfortable managing major accounts while leading others to succeed
This role would suit an experienced Sales Manager, National Sales Manager, or Senior Sales Engineer ready to step into a broader leadership position within a technically serious, globally respected engineering business.
