If so, this opportunity in Nottingham could be the start of your journey towards a rewarding career in education.
The Opportunity: Your Pathway Into Education
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Unqualified Teaching Assistants to work across a range of schools and provisions in Nottingham, supporting children with SEN and SEND needs. This is a day-to-day role to begin with, with opportunities to progress into part-time, long-term, and even permanent roles as you grow with us.
* Start date: ASAP
* Hours: 8:15am arrival for 8:30am start – 3:30pm finish
* Commitment: Minimum of 1 day per week (must complete at least 1 day per month/term to keep access to free CPD and workshops)
Where You’ll Work
You’ll gain valuable experience in a variety of school settings, each with its own unique approach to supporting children:
* Mainstream Primary & Secondary Schools – Working alongside teachers to help children with additional needs, including those with EHCPs, stay engaged and thrive in a mainstream environment.
* PRUs (Pupil Referral Units) – Supporting young people who may have been excluded or need alternative provision, helping them rebuild confidence and re-engage with education.
* Residential Schools – Providing consistency and care to children who live on site, supporting both their education and emotional wellbeing.
* SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) Schools – Helping children manage emotions, build resilience, and develop positive relationships.
* Learning Hubs – Small group settings designed to give children who struggle in mainstream a safe, supportive space to learn and grow.
Across all settings, your role will be to encourage, mentor, and support children, helping them to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
How We’ll Support You
We believe in growing brilliant Teaching Assistants, not just filling roles. That’s why we’ll provide you with:
* Free CPD & Training – Online modules, in-person workshops, and live Q&A sessions with SEN and SEMH specialists.
* Hands-on Guidance – Support from experienced education professionals who will help you every step of the way.
* Career Progression – Most of our staff progress into part-time, long-term, or permanent roles within schools.
* Continuous Learning – Schools you work in will also provide on-the-job training and professional development.
Who We’re Looking For
You don’t need to be qualified – what matters most is your passion, patience, and drive to make a difference.
The ideal candidate will be:
* Empathetic – Able to support children with a wide range of needs.
* Positive and Resilient – A role model who can inspire children daily.
* Flexible – Open to working across different types of schools and provisions.
* Reliable – Committed to arriving by 8:15am and being a consistent presence for children.
We welcome applications from those with experience in care, youth work, social care, tutoring, childcare, or mentoring, as well as anyone passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
Why This Role Matters
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be more than just classroom support. You will become:
* A mentor helping children believe in themselves.
* A role model showing them what is possible.
* A positive light making every day brighter.
You’ll make a genuine difference in children’s lives, helping them build friendships, develop confidence, and re-engage with learning.
