I am working with a well-established, privately owned infrastructure contractor looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to support continued growth across major civil engineering programmes.

The Opportunity
You will take full operational responsibility for delivering civil engineering schemes from site mobilisation through to completion. This role suits someone confident leading teams on live infrastructure projects where safety, programme, and commercial performance are equally critical.
You'll work closely with operational and commercial colleagues to ensure schemes are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to a high technical standard.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day site operations on civil engineering projects
Lead engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors
Drive programme performance and short-term planning
Oversee health & safety, environmental compliance, and quality control
Ensure works are delivered right first time
Monitor costs, forecasting, and protect the commercial position
Identify efficiencies and value engineering opportunities
Act as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders
Produce regular progress and performance reports
Requirements
Strong background as a Site Agent or Site Manager within civil engineering
Experience working in regulated infrastructure environments (e.g., water/utilities)
Commercial awareness with experience managing cost and value
Solid understanding of NEC or similar contract forms
Knowledge of CDM regulations and temporary works procedures
Ability to review technical drawings and resolve design challenges
Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
SMSTS (or equivalent) and valid CSCS
Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable)
Chartered status (or working towards) would be advantageous.
