Expleo is seeking an experienced Vehicle Architecture Lead Engineer to support a major automotive OEM on a contract basis. This role is critical within the Vehicle Concepts and Attribute Integration function, shaping the next of vehicle architectures at the earliest stages of development.
About the Role
As a Vehicle Architecture Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the engineering integration process across complete vehicle architectures. You will define and develop technical specifications and attribute targets, ensure robust engineering strategies, and guide the resolution of complex, cross-functional technical challenges.
This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and deep technical understanding of whole‑vehicle systems and attributes.
Key Responsibilities
Define, develop and maintain vehicle technical specifications and attribute requirements across vehicle architectures.
Lead the resolution of complex, multi‑disciplinary engineering issues, balancing competing requirements to deliver optimal system-level solutions.
Conduct in‑depth analysis of emerging technologies and competitor products to support future product competitiveness and influence engineering strategy.
Provide coaching, guidance and delegation to junior engineers and professionals within the team.
Work across numerous functions to drive integration consistency, technical alignment and programme delivery.
Address complex engineering challenges that require high‑level problem solving and cross‑attribute balancing.Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering and cross-functional vehicle systems
Enthusiasm for vehicles and their development
Strong communication skills and ability to interpret technical information
Good IT literacy e.g. ability to create and manage presentations and spreadsheets
Full UK driving licenceDesirable:
Previous experience of whole vehicle development and validation
Previous experience of problem-solving tools, e.g. Six sigma methods
Previous experience of leading technical issue resolution
