About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician to join our expanding Aftersales team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Automotive Technician / Mechanic who wants to work within a reputable main dealer environment, delivering high-quality servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on a range of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

Servicing & Repairs

  • Carry out routine vehicle servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs.
  • Complete major repair work including timing belts, clutches, brakes, suspension, and engine components.
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new vehicles.
  • Conduct MOT preparation work (if certified).

Diagnostics & Fault-Finding

  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults quickly and accurately.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
  • Provide clear technical information and repair recommendations to Service Advisors and the Service Manager.
  • Update vehicle software and complete manufacturer technical bulletins.

Quality, Standards & Compliance

  • Ensure all work meets manufacturer standards and dealership quality expectations.
  • Follow all workshop processes including job card completion, warranty procedures, and parts usage recording.
  • Maintain excellent workshop housekeeping.
  • Adhere to all health & safety policies and compliance requirements.

Customer Experience & Communication

  • Clearly explain completed work when required.
  • Support colleagues with technical knowledge and assist with complex vehicle issues.
  • Contribute to a positive, customer-focused culture within the Aftersales team.

Teamwork & Development

  • Work collaboratively with the Service Manager, Parts Department, and Service Advisors.
  • Mentor apprentices or junior technicians when required.
  • Participate in manufacturer training programmes to maintain accreditation and stay up to date with new technologies, including EV and hybrid systems.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
  • Previous experience in a dealership or independent workshop.
  • Ability to complete repairs efficiently and accurately.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Manufacturer training or accreditation.
  • MOT Tester licence (Class 4).
  • Experience using dealer management systems and diagnostic software.
  • High-voltage (EV/hybrid) training or certification.
