Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Vehicle Technician to join our small team on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent position due to upcoming staff changes. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who can work independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs to a high standard
- Complete MOT testing and/or taxi inspections (where qualified)
- Accurately complete written inspection sheets and documentation
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and within allocated timeframes
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification:
- Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or
- Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance
- Previous experience in MOT testing and/or taxi inspections is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with clear communication ability
- Competent in completing written reports and inspection sheets
- Reliable with excellent timekeeping and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and use initiative within a small team
- Experience with plant equipment is highly desirable (but not essential)
Working Hours:
- Minimum: 3 days per week (8 hours per day)
- Maximum: 5 days per week (up to 39 hours)
- Monday to Thursday: 07:45 – 16:15
- Friday: 7-hour working day
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- No bank holiday working
Contract Type:
- Temporary initially, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role
